Melanie Poxton
Melanie Poxton is a Registered Nurse with more than thirty-five years of nursing experience. She has
worked in clinical, management and educational roles in the UK and Australia. She holds a Bachelor of
Nursing and post graduate diplomas in paediatrics, health service management, education and palliative
care.
Currently, Melanie is the Assistant Director of Nursing of the Queensland Regional Clinical Trials
Coordinating Centre (QRCCC) based at the Townsville University Hospital, North Queensland,
Australia. Along with her colleagues and the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Council,
Melanie was instrumental in the development and implementation of the world’s first tele-trial model.
