TROG has an international reputation for undertaking extremely high-quality clinical trials, leading the world in trial quality assurance processes. A result of this is the collation of datasets, representing over 11,000 participants across 40+ trials, with consistent application of trial protocols and quality assessments. These data have resided in various forms on the storage systems of TROG and collaborating institutions and accessing them for secondary analysis has been challenging. Through a concerted effort by the TROG office, under guidance of the Secondary Data Analysis Committee, more of these data have been collated centrally and put into more accessible forms. Additionally, new processes have been established in an effort to improve ongoing and future data collection to facilitate the use of trial data that is FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable). These processes, the available datasets and their features, methods for data access and potential data uses will be summarised. The objective is to ensure the greatest value for trial investigators, funders and participants by producing accessible high-value datasets that can be used for research translation, to increase TROG’s impact and improve the lives of radiotherapy patients. Access to these data also provides an excellent resource for facilitating education and training opportunities.
